A quick scroll through Emma's Twitter, @Emma4Change, is enough to make you realise that this girl is no ordinary teenager. Emma González was just eighteen, a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, USA, when she survived a horrific shooting that claimed 17 lives.
Since then she’s been a formidable advocate for gun control – passionate, defiant and outspoken about US gun laws. She’s part of the team that headed the March for Our Lives movement, which sparked rallies all over the US and the world.
Her age hasn’t stopped her from calling out bullshit and inspiring others to do the same. Emma is a powerful icon, proving that young women can be leaders in the fight for justice.
