FINK: Story & Size Chart

As always, the garments in this collection are named after our feminist heroes. Margot Fink is an Australian activist, artist, designer and dedicated warrior in the fight against homophobia. A pocket rocket role model for LGBTI young people, Fink dares to put herself out there as "a trans voice who can be seen and heard” - bringing others along with her. What a legend.

This collection is a collaboration of Action Aid Myanmar, Action Aid Australia. This landmark partnership is sponsored by the Australian Government. The collection is made by women’s social enterprise MBoutik in the Magwe region of Myanmar.

The fabric used in this collection is a soft hand dyed cotton, which is woven on a traditional teak and bamboo handloom. We aim to localise our supply chain as much as possible to share the love in the local economy -  and so we source our lining cotton yarn from a local supplier and our base cotton yarn from neighbouring India.

Each piece is created to allude to a heavily tailored silhouette, but is deceptively simple in its construction - a design decision that is not just a perfect fit for The Fabric Social’s minimalist aesthetic, but also allows us to work with MBoutik’s tailors whose lack of reliable electricity precludes the use of modern electric sewing machines.
